We can also apply for Permits in Mainland UK and Europe.
Northern Ireland / UK
Permit’s are required for any abnormal loads or wide loads if the overall dimensions are over any of the following: 18.65m (rigid) length x 2.90m wide or Over 44000kgs. ( (application time 2 working days)
Republic of Ireland
Permits are required for all abnormal loads greater than L16.5m x W2.90m x H4.65m x 40t or 46t depending on axle and vehicle specification ( application time 4-7 working days)
Byrne Transport Solutions regularly carry out route surveys and reports for Abnormal load Movements. The purpose of these surveys is to choose a suitable route and ensure no issues occur when the movement takes place.
We can provide a simple route survey where our drivers will assess the route and let the customer know any problems and information on what the customer will need to do with regards to the street furniture and roads.
Byrne Transport Solutions can also provide a more details route survey report which would be supplied to the customer in a step-by-step report along with photos of any obstructions, issues or problems that could occur to ensure the movement can be carried out as safely and efficiently as possible.
We can also do site Surveys to make sure the loading/offloading site is assessable and if any modifications or street furniture needs to be removed within the site boundaries to allow the job to run smoothly
Byrne Transport Solutions can offer more than just Permits and Escorts. We can liaise with your Customer/Client in Ireland , site visits etc. Acting as an agent on your behalf we can arrange the loading /offloading with Cranes and also we can collect/ deliver your cargo at the Harbour and deliver to site saving You time and Money

PILOT CARS & PERMITS

The Byrne Transport Solutions Permits Team ensure the required notifications are in place for the movement of your cargo. All our pilot cars are Code of Practice compliant and will escort your cargo from collection to delivery point under the supervision of our qualified Drivers.

ABNORMAL LOAD NOTIFICATIONS

The Byrne Transport Solutions team will liaise with the Police and Highways agency and notify the route plans to the authorities. our Permits Team prepare transport permits and notifications for every abnormal, heavy and oversized transport project we undertake.

We are specialists on route and site surveying for the transportation of Abnormal loads. We have a vast knowledge of all routes throughout the whole island of Ireland. Due to a wide variation in bridge heights and road layouts we carefully plan each route to the specifications of the load size. This is also part of our permit application process.
